About us
Mohamed Ibrahim
Founder and Director of DEE Language School Dortmund
Making German easy to understand. Supporting people personally. Creating new opportunities.
My name is Mohamed Ibrahim. I am a German teacher, language school director and generally authorised translator for the Arabic language. I have lived and worked in Dortmund for around ten years. In 2020, I founded DEE Language School Dortmund.
DEE stands for “Deutsch einfach erklärt” – “German explained simply.” This name reflects exactly what I stand for: German lessons should be clear, understandable and practical. Learners should not simply memorise rules. They should understand the language, use it confidently and achieve their personal goals.
- Personal consultation
- Around ten years of teaching experience
- German, Arabic and English
- German courses from A1 to C1
My Journey to Founding My Own Language School
I am originally from Egypt, where I studied German Studies. Language, communication and meeting people from different countries have shaped my professional journey from the very beginning.
After moving to Dortmund, I worked as a German teacher at several language schools. During this time, I met many people who needed German for very different reasons: everyday life, vocational training, employment, university studies, an examination or a new life in Germany.
I repeatedly noticed that many learners do not struggle because they lack motivation. What they often lack are understandable explanations, a clear structure and personal support.
This is how the idea for DEE was born.
In 2020, I founded DEE Language School Dortmund. I wanted to create a place where German is genuinely explained in a simple and understandable way and where every participant is recognised and valued as an individual.
Why I Founded DEE
For me, a language school is more than just a classroom.
People come to us because they have a specific goal. Some want to begin vocational training. Others want to study, pass an examination, advance professionally or finally communicate confidently in everyday life.
Behind every registration is a personal story. That is why, for me, good teaching does not begin in the classroom. It begins with the very first consultation.
At DEE, we support our participants step by step:
- in choosing the right language level,
- with a free placement test,
- throughout the entire language course,
- during examination preparation,
- with questions about course documentation and registrations,
- and on the path towards their next personal goal.
My aim is to ensure that our participants always know where they currently stand, what they are learning and which next step makes sense for them.
My Philosophy
German Must Be Understandable
Difficult grammar does not require complicated explanations. I want to teach rules in a way that enables learners to truly understand them and use them in everyday life.
Everyone Learns Differently
Some people learn quickly through conversation, while others benefit from clear tables, examples, repetition or practical exercises. Lessons should therefore not simply follow a textbook. They should also respond to the actual needs of the group.
Personal Support Makes the Difference
At DEE, participants should never feel like just another number on a course list. We take the time to answer questions, identify difficulties early and support every learner throughout their individual learning journey.
Language Creates New Opportunities
German language skills create independence and confidence. They provide access to vocational training, university studies, professional development and active participation in society.
Language creates opportunities, confidence and genuine participation.
My Responsibilities at DEE
As the founder and director of DEE Language School Dortmund, I am personally responsible for many areas, including:
- academic and organisational management,
- advising new participants,
- developing our course programmes,
- teaching German and preparing learners for examinations,
- ensuring the quality of our lessons,
- supporting our teaching staff,
- managing courses and participants,
- advising participants on telc, TestDaF, DSH and specialised language examinations,
- and providing certified translations.
This combination of teaching, consultation and organisation helps me understand the needs of our participants and continuously develop our language school.
German Courses with a Clear Goal
DEE offers German courses from A1 to C1 in Dortmund and live online.
Our services include:
- intensive German courses from A1 to C1,
- evening courses,
- face-to-face and live online lessons,
- preparation for telc, TestDaF and DSH examinations,
- German for medical professionals,
- preparation for the Medical German Language Examination,
- private tuition,
- free placement tests,
- and personal consultation in German, Arabic and English.
We also develop our own learning materials and the DEE Intensive Trainer A1–C1, which provides clear explanations and additional exercises.
My Work as an Authorised Translator
In addition to my work as a German teacher and language school director, I am a generally authorised translator for the Arabic language within the district of the Higher Regional Court of Hamm.
I provide professional and certified translations between Arabic and German. These include:
- birth and marriage certificates,
- civil status documents,
- school and university certificates,
- court and official documents,
- driving licences,
- and documents required for university studies, recognition procedures and naturalisation.
My experience with languages, authorities and education enables me to understand many requests not only from a linguistic perspective, but also within their practical context.
What Makes DEE Special
DEE is deliberately managed on a personal level. Anyone who contacts us does not receive an anonymous standard response, but advice tailored to their actual goals.
Our language school stands for:
- clear and structured lessons,
- experienced and qualified teachers,
- personal support,
- modern classrooms in a central location,
- face-to-face and live online courses,
- clearly defined learning objectives,
- transparent course information,
- and respectful interaction with people from every country.
Our school is located in the heart of Dortmund, just a few minutes’ walk from Dortmund Central Station.
My Vision for DEE
I want to continue developing DEE into a language school that stands for quality, trust and German lessons that are easy to understand.
Our participants should leave the school with more than improved language skills. They should gain greater confidence, become more independent and move a decisive step closer to achieving their personal goals.
For me, German lessons are successful when someone can say afterwards:
“Now I understand it. Now I can do it myself.”
